Scouting Report:

DJ Hanes is an unbelievably dynamic scorer. Standing at 6’1”, he may not have the biggest physical stature but his speed and athleticism and ability to score the ball in a variety of ways more than compensates for it. A multi-sport star growing up, DJ came on to the college basketball scene after a stint with college football. He went on to break so many scoring records at Grace University and at Nebraska Christian College.

As a Junior at Nebraska Christian, he led the entire collegiate ranks (regardless of division) in scoring at 33.7 points per game. He can score in multiple ways. He has an extremely quick first step and gets to the rim with ease. Had multiple games of 50+ points in college including a 63 point game his Junior year and a 72 point game his Senior year. Extremely athletic and has a tremendous vertical leap. He was heavily depended on in college to play the Shooting Guard spot a lot of the times but has shown major improvement over his college career to handle the ball as a Point Guard as well when needed. He is a very underrated passer and ballhandler. On the defensive end, he plays the passing lanes well and is always a threat to get steals and score in transition. If DJ’s game continues to develop he will be playing professional basketball at a very high level for a long time.
